Hello and welcome all! "I come in peace from all mankind". You must be thinking that why am I telling this line but actually the plate of appolo 11 left on moon had these words written on it in case, if any alien finds it! But today my post is not about the moon but it is about the Neutron stars and the supernova explosions.
Let's start our topic with neutron stars.
When a star having a medium core like our sun has elements like hydrogen, helium, carbon, etc. the core has a tremendous gravitational force acting upon the object. When the core starts combining the elements together,it is such a tightness that the atoms could not withstand them and therefore, an explosion happens and remains a small star like structure which is know as neutron star. It is highly presurrised and spins at 5000 RPM (i.e - 5000 Rounds Per Minute) which is 83.3333333333 rounds per second! imagine that. It is so dense and highly pressurised that 1 teaspoon of neutron star can weigh 100 million tons!
My advice : - Stay away from it :-)
A supernova is known as 'the blast' because it is the explosion of a massive star. It releases heat and light energy so much that its brightness is equal to 10 billion suns. But this beautiful picture of a supernova proved itself to be harmful by emmiting the most dangerous ray, "The Gamma Rays"
Supernovas explode and this explosion causes the Gamma rays to travel throughout the space! Gamma ray crushes anything coming in their path or more precisely, wipe out. Imagine what would happen if a Gamma ray would hit Earth!
- The gamma ray would target Earth's ozone layer and the layer will be destroyed in seconds.
- The destruction of these layers would cause mass extinction .
- It would wipe out all the water and there will be dryness, UV rays of the sun. There will be no human alive
